A user of ACT Locate can commence a search by entering some details within ONE of the Three search options provided on the Search Page.This Search Page can also be accessed from the Map Page by left-clicking on the 'Search Again’ link at the bottom right of the Map Page.

 

 A user wishing to locate a street address should enter details as requested in the display above. The user should enter a minimum of some part of the street name for this search to be successful. If the first part of the street name is not entered then a ‘%’ wildcard character should precede the text string.

 Not all fields need to be entered and the user will be presented with a Search Results Page if more than one address meets the criteria entered. If sufficient details are provided for a unique result the user will be presented with the Map Page If a search does not return any results try reducing the information provided and use the next page to select the desired address.

 

 A user wishing to locate a Block (land parcel) should enter details as requested in the display above. The user should enter a minimum of Block Number OR Section Number, AND part of the Division (Suburb); OR Block Number AND part of the District name; OR the whole Block Key. If the first part of the Division or District name is not entered then a ‘%’ wildcard character should precede the text string.

 Not all fields need to be entered and the user will be presented with a Search Results Page if more than one Block meets the criteria entered. If sufficient details are provided for a unique result the user will be presented with the Map Page. If a search does not return any results try reducing the information provided and use the next page to select the desired block.

 

 A user wishing to locate a Place or Feature by its name should enter either the whole name; OR the first few characters of the name; OR a text string from within the name proceeded by the ‘%’ wildcard character.

 If more than one place or feature matches the search string the user will be presented with a Search Results Page . If sufficient details are provided for a unique result the user will be presented with the Map Page . If a search does not return any results try reducing the number of characters provided and use the next page to select the desired result.
